Volunteer Opportunities
8th Annual Race for the Dream 5k Lace up those running shoes and join us for our annual Race for the Dream 5k run/walk on Labor Day Monday, September 6, 2011. The race starts at 8am at Milledge Avenue Baptist Church, located 1690 S. Milledge Avenue in Athens. Volunteers are needed to help with registration and directing runners. As a non-profit organization, Athens Area Habitat depends on volunteers in the Athens Area for support. Volunteers are the backbone of Habitat and everyone has something to offer. Athens Area Habitat accepts volunteers who are 18+ years of age (16+ with parent or gaurdian). If you are interested in involving younger members of your family, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator.
"Hammer Swinging" on the job site is one of the most popular ways to get involved in our mission. Our construction team builds Wednesday- Thursday (8:15am - 3:00pm), and Saturday 9:00am-4:00pm. You don’t need any prior construction experience to get out to the build site and we provide you with all the tools you will need for the day. Please plan in advance to schedule time at a build site.
Work With Mr. Green The ReStore is open Monday- Saturday 9:00am - 5:00pm. We accept a limited number of volunteers each day to work with Mr. Green at the ReStore from 9am to 1pm so please plan in advance to schedule time.

There are also opportunities to volunteer on a committee. Committees include: Building, Church Relations, Family Support, Family Selection, Fundraising, Public Relations, and Site Selection. Please contact the Public Outreach coordinator for more specific information about participating in a particular committee.

Build Louder! Become an advocate for Athens Area Habitat. Involve your friends, your family, your work, or your church. There are always opportunities for group projects. Just contact Athens Area Habitat to coordinate a group activity.
